Developing interactive electronics kits for children requires balancing tactile functionality with rigorous safety compliance. The engineering challenge centered on creating components—including LEDs, motors, and beepers—that could withstand “simulated abuse” (impact and torque) without releasing small parts, while ensuring 100% chemical non-toxicity in all materials.
We implemented a comprehensive engineering and supply chain strategy focused on ASTM F963 standards. Our team audited every material—from the dyes in the conductive compounds to the internal polymers—to ensure chemical compliance and full batch traceability. We engineered the parts for durability under simulated abuse conditions, ensuring that every component remains safe and functional throughout its lifecycle.
The resulting STEM kits provide a safe, durable, and fully compliant platform for hands-on circuit education. By managing the technical risks of material science and mechanical safety, we enabled the client to deploy a high-impact learning tool that meets the world’s most stringent children’s product standards.
